Welcome to Applications - Home Garages

Equipment Selection: Garage applications are best heated by using low to mid-size BTU tube heaters. Open flame DR heaters cannot be used. Ten or twenty ft. tube heaters with less than 40,000 BTU consumption are most commonly applied. Mounting height requirements, or the garage being attached to the house may dictate the use of the CSA Residentially Certified LS or LD Series Heater. The LS 10-25 or the LD 15-40 will usually suffice for an insulated two-car garage, and the LD 20-40 for an insulated two and a half to three-car garage.

Installation:
Typical installation is in the corner where the wall and ceiling meet, opposite the overhead door, with the reflector rotated 15° - 30° towards the center of the space. The use of combustion air is optional, but venting is required.  Heaters are usually controlled by thermostats (and timer), and should be kept clean.
