Equipment Selection:   Use low to mid-sized BTU infra-red tube heaters, not to exceed 40 ft. or 100,000 BTU.   DBS Series and/or HL Series Heaters are typically best suited for these applications.  Heaters should be controlled by thermostat, with sensors at the animals' level.  Care should be taken not to use oversized heaters.

Installation: To heat dual facing rows of  cages (typical), place the heaters along the center line of the building, about 8-10 ft. above the floor.  Mount tube burner boxes near the areas with highest heat loss (doors). Optimum coverage heats about half of each cage, which allows the animals to move to and from the heat as desired.  Combustion air is highly recommended.  All heaters should be vented.
